Arthur C. Marose
Arthur C. Marose, 89, a long time Warsaw businessman, passed away peacefully at 5 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, from his 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Art was born on Feb. 21, 1931, in South Bend, and was the only child of Stanley Marosz and Clara Rozwarski Marosz.
On Nov. 27, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jewel (Jo) Crouch in South Bend. Art was a resident of Warsaw and Tippecanoe Lake and lived on the 1st hole of the Tippy Golf Course for 43 years. He was an active member of the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club where he served on the Board of Directors, and the Tippecanoe Lake Property Owners Association where he served as Landing Director. Art was a winter resident of the Highland Woods Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Art graduated in 1949 from South Bend Central High School and in 1953 graduated from Indiana University. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War. Art began his insurance career with the Aetna Insurance Company in Indianapolis before relocating to Warsaw in 1958 to work with W. Robert Hall. In 1964, The Hall & Marose Agency, Inc. was established. Acting as President and Chairman of the Board for The Hall & Marose Agency, Art served the Warsaw community providing and meeting the insurance needs of residents and businesses for over 50 years before retiring from a career that he loved.
Art was active in the Warsaw community volunteering for the Kosciusko Community YMCA serving on its Board of Directors, The Kosciusko County United Way, and the American Cancer Society. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church serving on the Parish council, as well as being a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was Grand Knight, the Warsaw Jaycees, the Kiwanis Club of Warsaw, and the Warsaw Elks Lodge.
In high school, Art was on the diving team. When the first Warsaw YMCA was built in 1965, Art volunteered to be the first swim team coach. He has fondly remembered his swimmers throughout the years. We thank our father for passing on his love of the water, teaching us all to swim, ski, sail and giving us the opportunity to live year-round at Lake Tippy.
Survivors include daughters Kim (Pete) Morrison of Burr Ridge, Illinois, and Kathy Marose of Indianapolis; sons, Kevin Marose, Winona Lake, Kelly (Rachel) Marose, Warsaw and daughter-in-law Barb Marose Stringer. In addition, grandchildren, Ellie (Andy) Lockhart, Ben (Mary Kate) Morrison, Abby Morrison, and Nate Morrison, Drs. Kyle (Neelam) Marose, Ryan Marose, Katie Marose; and great-grandchildren Peirce Lockhart, John Morrison, Nova and Avery Marose. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo and parents, Stanley and Clara Marosz.
A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Warsaw at 11 a.m.,Thursday, Jan. 7, with Father Jonathan Norton officiating. A Private Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. McHatton- Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
