Martha Jane Burnett
Martha Jane Burnett, 87, Warsaw, passed away 9:27 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. She was born on May 15, 1933, in Plymouth, to Robert J. and Minnie L. (Ranstead) Lewallen.
She graduated in 1951 from Tippecanoe High School in Bourbon, and was married on June 5, 1970, in Etna Green, to Rex D. Burnett who preceded her in November 1997. She retired from Kosciusko Community Hospital after 14 years as a nurse’s aide and formerly worked at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, as a C.S. Tech. She was a lifetime Kosciusko and Marshall County area resident.
She attended the Family Worship Center in Warsaw, and was a member of the Winona Lake Senior Center & Salvation Army for many years. She enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles.
She is survived by her daughter: Caroline S. (Randy) Miller of Union, Mich.; son: Richard A. (Tami) Thompson of Warsaw; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters: Toni Wheeler and Linda Berger; two stepsons: Rex A. Burnett and Michael Burnett
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter, Jenna Lynn Harman
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Tippecanoe Cemetery in Tippecanoe. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw, IN 46582 is in charge of arrangements.
