Ruthann Markley
Ruthann Markley, 62, Rochester, passed away at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at Bay Front Health Center in Port Charlotte, Fla.
On Feb. 22, 1958, in Fulton County, Ruthann was born to Steve and Judith Damron Croussore. Growing up she shared her childhood with two brothers Dave and Jim. In 1976 she graduated from Rochester High School.
In Rochester, Ruthann and Richard Lee “Rick” Markley were married on June 24, 2000. They have shared 20 years of life’s adventures.
As a quality control manager, Ruthann worked for Airvac for many years. Later she was a customer service specialist at Topp Industries, then retired in 2016. To stay busy Ruthann assisted families with custom domestic engineering projects, yet taking time to winter in Port Charlotte where she and Rick had a home. Her memberships included the Moose Lodge Family Center # 1107 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary.
At home, Ruthann planted and cared for multiple rose gardens that graced the landscape of her home, adding bursts of color. She and Rick enjoyed “pool time,” when the grandchildren came to chill in the summer, swimming and making many fun memories.
Ruthann loved the sun, sand and surf, on the breezy shore of the Gulf of Mexico. She and Rick took many walks on the beach enjoying the warmth of the sun. Sometimes their day included searching for shark’s teeth. The perfect end to each day was hitting the Tiki Bar, enjoying seafood and beverages while talking with friends and watching the sunset over the gulf.
Left to cherish Ruthann’s memory are her husband, Rick, four children, Carrie Osborn and husband Lincoln of Plymouth, Phillip Kelly and companion Billie of Raleigh, N.C., Mat Markley and companion Misty Swanson of Rochester, Chris Markley and wife Nikki of Culver; eight-grandchildren; a brother Dave Croussore of Fla.
Preceding Ruthann in death are her parents Steve and Judith Croussore and brother Jim Croussore.
Private family services celebrating the life of Ruthann Markley will be held Monday in the Good Family Funeral Home. Ruthann’s life celebration will be live-streamed at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28. Log on to Facebook and search “JD Good” to view the service. Teri White will officiate.
