Junior Howard, 80, Claypool, passed away at 11:04 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Junior was born Sept. 25, 1940, in Hill Lake, to Booker and Annie (Pitts) Howard. He was united in marriage in Atwood E.U.B. Church to Vicki Bolinger on Jan. 21, 1967, sharing almost 54 years together.
Junior lived his entire life around the Kosciusko County area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman Third Class. He worked as a manager and supervisor for 42 years at Black Oxide, Burket. He enjoyed mushroom hunting trips to Michigan and on the family farm in Sidney. He was a Gilliam’s Bowling League Enthusiast.
Junior is survived by wife, Vicki Howard, Warsaw; children, Charles (Samantha) Howard, Silver Lake, Holly (Dave) Ousley, Pierceton; grandchildren, Ean and Julie Howard, Silver Lake; Aric and Emily Howard, Seattle, Wash.; Ryanne and Karrie Ousley, Pierceton; and the first great grandchild to be born in June 2021. In addition, he is survived by, siblings: Ruthene Jamison, Aurora, Ill.; John (Connie) Howard, Pierceton, and Mary Taylor, Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Dennis Howard, Stella Bell, and Lowell Howard.
A visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Pastor Rick Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with military honors rendered by the American Legion Post #49.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food permitted at this time.
