David D. Johnson
David D. Johnson, 72, Warsaw, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Dave was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Wabash, to Oscar and Doris (Conrad) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Charlene Ellis on Sept. 23, 1989, in Warsaw.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He worked as a Supervisor for Warsaw Coil for 40 years. Dave enjoyed farm work, raising calves, being a bee keeper, ice fishing and the outdoors in general. He was known to be a pumpkin grower with the help of his family for the past twenty years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family and a loyal friend to many in the community.
He is survived by wife, Charlene Johnson, Warsaw; children, Michelle (Larry) Hollar, Atwood; Danelle (John) Leeka, Winona Lake; Dana (Ralph) Hatfield, Warsaw; David D. Johnson II, Winona Lake; and Caitlin Johnson, Spring Arbor, Mich. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Brittany, Larry III, John, Brandon, Randy, Leone and two great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at 5 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Pastor Mike Beezley will be officiating the service. Interment will be private.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food permitted at this time.
