Wawasee Early Learning Center Has Openings

SYRACUSE — Wawasee Early Learning Center — Syracuse — is a learning center available to any child, ages 3-5, in the Wawasee Community School Corporation district.
Wawasee Early Learning Center, Syracuse location, is housed at Syracuse Elementary school. There is one classroom, currently with seats open for 10 students. The Learning Center day starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. (before and aftercare is available for an additional cost).
Wawasee Early Learning Center in Syracuse will cost $25 a day as well as an additional $50 registration and supply fee. The students will have access to a free breakfast, lunch, and snack daily and uses the HighScope curriculum in addition to following the early childhood guidelines set by the Indiana Department of Education.
Additional training will be provided to staff in the area of CPR, bloodborne pathogens, and mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect. All staff of the Wawasee Early Learning Center — Syracuse — will complete the trauma training used across the Wawasee corporation, The 7 Ingredients of a Trauma-Informed School.
The learning center is open during the 180 days Wawasee Community School Corporation is in session and adheres to delays, closings, and teacher workdays that are built into this calendar. A commitment to attending is a commitment to attend for all remaining school calendar days. The $50 registration fee is non-refundable.

The Wawasee Early Learning Center in North Webster is available to any child, ages 3-5, in the Wawasee Community School Corporation district. The Learning Center is housed at North Webster Elementary School.
It consists of two classrooms, one of which is designated for children ages 3 and 4. The second classroom is designated for children ages 4 and 5, preparing for entrance to kindergarten. The center employs one licensed elementary teacher as well as two additional lead teachers and three paraprofessionals.
Hours at North Webster are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The fee is $25 a day. There is an additional, non-refundable, $50 registration and supply fee.

After receiving the $50 registration fee, a follow-up phone call will be made to the parent/guardian to provide and gather more information. This might include food preferences, student interests, etc. If a request for a student to leave the Wawasee Early Learning Center mid-year is made, a two week paid notice is required.
