Syracuse Public Library Announces Holiday Closings
Press Release
SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Public Library checked out 33,000 items from their collection to people in the library in 2020. More items came from other libraries; about that many items were also sent to other libraries.
The Goodreads online book recommendation service shows the results of the 2020 survey of favorite books for fiction; favorite fiction books are “The Midnight Library,” “Anxious People,” “American Dirt,” “Such a Fun Age,” “The Guest List” and “The Vanishing Half.” Sound familiar or something on a future reading list? The library can get a copy. Even as a late entry, “A Promised Land” is a top best-seller in non-fiction. The Syracuse Library owns about 20,000 items that are ready to be borrowed. Movies are the most favored group for repeat requests.
New Year’s Week
The Syracuse Library is only open Monday through Wednesday during New Year’s week. Holiday closing dates are Dec. 24 through 26 and Dec. 31 through Jan. 2. Books, movies and other items can be returned on the Harrison Street side drop-box.
When social media is an important part of being connected, it is possible to follow the Syracuse Public Library on their YouTube channel. Subscribing to a channel is free and provides a quick link.
