NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Public Library Board of Trustees recently announced the appointment of Heather Barron as library director effective Jan. 11.
Barron replaces Helen Leinbach Frank, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Barron is currently the director of Plymouth Public Library, a position she has held since February 2017. Prior to that, she served as director of Bourbon Public Library for eight years. Other experience includes serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia, Africa.
Barron grew up in Bourbon, where she graduated from Triton High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from Purdue University and a Master of Library and Information degree from Indiana University. Barron also holds certifications in facilitator training, Harwood Institute for Public Innovation and 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. She currently serves as vice-president of the Bourbon Redevelopment Committee and is a member of Plymouth Kiwanis Club, among other community involvements.
“I am thrilled to be joining the North Webster Community Public Library,” said Barron. “Helen and the staff have created an incredible resource in the community and I am so grateful to be a part of the next chapter. I look forward to learning more about the area and residents as we explore new opportunities for the library to continue to grow and collaborate.”
Barron encourages patrons to stop in the library and say hello.
