Carl ‘Ed’ Holcomb
Carl “Ed” Holcomb, 78, Elkhart, formerly of Nappanee, went to be with his wife Tanya, at 9:50 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at Eastlake Nursing Home, Elkhart.
He was born March 1, 1942 in Cambell’s Creek, W. Va. to Carl and Opal (Hammock) Holcomb. On June 2, 1972, he married Tanya Lienhart in Wakarusa. She preceded him in death June 1, 2005.
Carl has lived in the Michiana area since 1994. He worked at General Motors building train engines for 30 years. Carl was an Army Veteran of Vietnam, where he received one Bronze Star. He was a member of the UAW. He was a fishing fanatic and an outdoorsman; he was a simple man. He loved his grandsons and family. He was a huge football fan, especially Notre Dame.
Surviving are his son, Mark (Suzanne) Holcomb, Goshen; grandsons, Caleb and Ridge Holcomb, Goshen. He was preceded in death by his wife; and brother Jack Holcomb.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21.
