WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees approved several employee policy changes during a meeting on Monday, Dec. 14.
Ten policy changes were presented to the board, with a majority of the edits involving new verbiage added by the library’s attorney. One newly introduced policy focuses on general attendance for employees.
Policy edits regarding anti-harassment, confidential information, employment applications, holiday leave, job performance appraisal, materiality threshold, employment termination and a drug-free and alcohol-free work environment were all approved at the meeting. WCPL’s new vision statement and core values were also included as policy changes.
WCPL Assistant Director Joni Brookins also told the board that the Indiana State Library approved the library’s 2021-2025 strategic plan.
The board also determined its 2021 slate of board officers; the slate will be officially voted on during the board’s January meeting. Board Member Cathi Zdenek stepped down as secretary due to potentially moving in the next year. Board Member Jill Beehler offered to serve in the role.
With the exception of Beehler now serving as secretary, 2021’s officer slate will remain the same as it was in 2020. Chris Merrill, Barbara Beck and Ben Rice will serve in their current positions as president, vice-president and treasurer.
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11.
