Mary Fern Bontrager, 54, Nappanee, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, unexpectedly at her residence of natural causes. She was born February 15, 1966 in Sturgis, Michigan to Samuel W. and Bessie (Yoder) Bontrager. She moved to Nappanee in 2002. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Mary Fern was an office worker for Sunlight Creations.
She is survived by her parents, Samuel and Bessie Bontrager, Nappanee; brothers, Samuel (Martha) Bontrager, Kaleva, MI, Duane (Ruth) Bontrager, Milford, Edwin (Martha) Bontrager, Milford, William (Sharon) Bontrager, Nappanee; 38 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Bontrager and infant brother; and a sister, Joanna Bontrager.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, and all day Thursday, Dec. 17, at the family home (6819 W. 1200 N., Nappanee). Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 18, also at the family home. Bishop Harry Miller and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.
