NORTH WEBSTER — Jimmy Cavender of Leesburg presented checks for $675 to representatives of Riley’s Kids, Bailey Moore Foundation, Cardinal Services and American Legion Dec. 4 at an event at North Webster American Legion Post 253.
The funds were raised as part of Cavender’s 50 jobs in 50 days campaign, in which Cavender and about 100 volunteers completed jobs across Kosciusko County with proceeds going to local non-profits.
The fundraiser will officially end on Dec. 18 at the North Webster Legion. A raffle will be held at 8 p.m. with all proceeds going to benefit the American Legion and programs supporting veterans, including the day-to-day operations of Post 253.
Tickets are still available and may be purchased at the legion from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
There will be five winners and prizes include $500 cash, HDTV and three prize packs to support local businesses: American Hoosier Prize Pack, Syracuse Strong Prize Pack and Webster United Prize Pack. Participants do not need to be present to win raffle prizes.
The Legion will be serving prime rib as the special and there will also be karaoke entertainment. This event is open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.
