Anna Belle Weldy
Anna Belle Weldy, 89, Wakarusa, formerly of CR 32, Elkhart, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor.
She was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Elkhart County to Herbert F. and Miriam F. (Copenhaver) Roose. On Nov. 25, 1950, in Wakarusa, she married Dale Edward Weldy and he died Sept. 17, 2017.
Surviving are sons: Donald (Monica) Weldy, Nappanee; and Joseph (Linda) Weldy, Mishawaka; a daughter: Sally (Tim) Brubaker, Goshen; eight grandchildren: Shawn Weldy, Cindy (Tom) Lamb, Denise (Jeremy) Rush, Jennifer Weldy, Michele Weldy, Phillip Weldy, Laura Brubaker, and Hannah Brubaker; great-grandchildren: Dillion, Garrett, Kaitlin, Wesley, Tanner, Nathan; and sisters: Opal Graber, Greentown; and Alice “Pauline” Swinehart, Granger.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband: Dale; a brother: Carl Roose; and an infant sister: Vera Mae Roose.
She was a bookkeeper at Yellow Creek Feed Mill, a tax specialist with H & R Block and worked at Key Bank. She was a member of Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren and Home Ec Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, cooking for family and playing games. She was very supportive of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending their events and activities. She also liked to send cards of encouragement to others.
Private family services will be held at Yellow Creek Cemetery. Pastor Mark Bendes will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to Wakarusa Public Library or Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.
