WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital after swerving her vehicle to avoid hitting a deer.
At 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on North CR 650E, north of East CR 200N, Warsaw.
A gray 2004 Honda Accord, operated by Susan L. Wright, 40, EMS B37 Lane 51-11, Warsaw, was traveling north on CR 650E when a deer entered her path of travel. As she tried to avoid hitting the deer, Wright’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting a telephone pole and then a tree.
This resulted in Wright becoming entrapped in her vehicle. Washington Township Fire Department extricated Wright from the vehicle. Wright sustained a head laceration and possible broken arm in the accident; she was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment.
Damages are estimated at up to $10,000.
