Louis ‘Louie’ Arthur Diehl
Louis “Louie” Arthur Diehl, 65, Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, passed away at 6:55 p.m. at Grace Village Health Care on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1955, in Elkhart, to Ermal (Sellers) Diehl and Louis Arthur Diehl. On June 28, 2008, he was married in Shipshewana, to Patricia Bell Drake.
Louis was a 1973 graduate of Wawasee High School in Syracuse. He worked as a steel press operator for Flexco Products in Elkhart for a number of years as well as working for Mark Ambulance Company. He was an avid fisherman and went to many fishing tournaments. Louis had attended Peoples Bible Church in Benton, Indiana for about a year. In 2013 following his injury, Louie made Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana his home where he was lovingly cared for.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 12 years, Patricia Diehl, Warsaw; two daughters: Sara Freeman and Bethany Snyder (both of New Jersey); step-son: Gary Jones,Warsaw; and seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister: Diana (Tom) Taylor, Ligonier; and two brothers: Bill Diehl, Elwood; John Diehl, Claypool. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ron Diehl, and two sisters, Jane Wolf and Lorraine Reader.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Louis’ life will be celebrated immediately following visitation at noon and officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
