Philip Daniel ‘Phil’ Damewood
Philip Daniel “Phil” Damewood, 37, Syracuse, passed away at 12:29 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on April 28, 1983, in Coolidge, Ariz. to William and Marcia (Hourscht) Damewood.
He graduated from Northridge High School and moved to Syracuse four years ago from Elkhart. He was married on May 25, 2019, in Mexico to Karissa R. Auer who survives. He was employed at Forest River in Goshen and formerly worked at Dutchmen in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife: Karissa Damewood of Syracuse; two daughters: Rylee Damewood of Indianapolis and Aubree Damewood of Elkhart; son: Jaydn Damewood of Elkhart; stepdaughter: Daisy Sainer of Syracuse; two stepsons: Dylan Hively of Syracuse and Dextin Sainer of Syracuse; parents: William and Marcia Hourscht, Coolage, Ariz.; brother, Shane Hourscht, Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters: Donna Perea, Bonnie Fowler, Joyce Wild, and Rebecca Rivera
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Sheldon Callahan of the Vineyard Community Church officiating. Family request that masks be worn for services.
