John Edward Manuel
John Edward Manuel, 77, Warsaw, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020. John was born on Aug. 19, 1943, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to the late Edward and Polly (Adams) Manuel.
John grew up in Kentucky and graduated from Prestonsburg High School. He furthered his education by receiving a degree from Mayo State Vocational School and later attended Morehead State University. John worked at the family business: Manuel’s Radio, TV Repair and Bottle Gas Shop.
On May 25, 1965, John was united in marriage to Patty (Blackburn) Manuel in Clintwood, Va. They moved to Indiana In January 1967. After moving to Indiana, John worked at Kimble Glass, Warsaw, and Franklin Coach, Nappanee. He changed jobs and took a position at Rochester Homes, Inc, Rochester, where he worked for 36 years, serving as Vice President retiring in 2009.
John spent his retirement doing what he enjoyed most, which was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and he let everyone know whenever he got the chance. He loved to talk to people and didn’t know a stranger. He was looked upon for advice by many. He was always busy doing something and always ready to lend a helping hand. He will forever be remembered as a selfless giver that always thought of others before himself. John will be missed terribly.
John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patty Manuel; daughter, Dora (Brenden) Bartol and son, Keith (Cara) Manuel all of Warsaw. John leaves behind four grandchildren; Keeton, Kyler, Kalista Bartol and Cameron Manuel all of Warsaw. John is further survived by a brother, Sammy (Linda) Manuel of Bourbon, IN and nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Polly Manuel and three brothers: Dallas, Robert and Roger Manuel.
A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the funeral chapel. Dr. Joe Graham will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food permitted at this time.
