Bertha Schmucker, 96, Nappanee, died at 10:25 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Paddock Springs, Warsaw, where she has resided since February.  She was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Elkhart County to Noah and Matilda (Yoder) Brandenberger. 

Mrs. Schmucker lived her lifetime in the Elkhart County area. She was a graduate of Middlebury High School.  On October 12, 1947, she married Paul Schmucker.  He preceded her in death June 17, 2020.

Mrs. Schmucker was a homemaker and a former member of North Main Street Mennonite Church in Nappanee.

Surviving are her sons, Jeff Schmucker, Warsaw, Kent and Jim Schmucker, both of Nappanee; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sister, Florence Hostetler, Goshen.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Seth Schmucker; daughter-in-law, Rose Schmucker; sisters, Luella Christner, Nora Duprue, Mary Schmucker, and brother, Lloyd Brandenberger.

Family and friends may call from 3 – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.  Funeral services will begin at 4:30.  Rev. Barry Curtis will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
