Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 10:54 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, West CR 100N, east of Parks Schram Road, Warsaw. Driver: Michael A. Wahlig, 47, Old Road 30, Warsaw. A deer struck Wahlig’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, West CR 1350N, Warsaw. Driver: Marlin Chupp, 43, North CR 900W, Nappanee. Chupp’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:49 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, South CR 700W, Claypool. Driver: Craig A. Reeser, 42, SR 14, Akron. Reeser said he swerved to avoid striking a deer that entered the roadway. His vehicle struck a utility pole and the vehicle overturned on its side. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:44 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy A. Craig, 52, Emeline Street, Milford. Craig’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:03 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, East Pierceton Road, Pierceton. Driver: Jeffrey S. Farmer, 42, Washington Road, Pierceton. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to report of a pursuit that resulted in a single vehicle property damage crash. Upon arrival to the intersection of East Pierceton Road and Washington Road, Farmer’s vehicle was found on the west side of Washington Road. The vehicle had struck a utility pole. Farmer was arrested. Damage up to $10,000.
- 4:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, SR 13, north of Trusdell Avenue, Syracuse. Driver: Gerardo S. Sanchez, 29, Prairie Drive, Syracuse. Sanchez’s vehicle went off the roadway, struck some bricks around a mailbox and came to rest in a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
- 10:18 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, North CR 800W, Etna Green. Driver: Gerald W. Markley, 84, Cedar Ridge CV, Fort Wayne. Markley said he was driving south on CR 800W when a horse entered his lane of travel. Markley’s vehicle struck the horse. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:32 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, EMS B36B2 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Bonnie S. Stephan, 82, EMS B36B2 Lane, Warsaw. Stephan was pulling onto B36B2 Lane when her vehicle struck a tree. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:56 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, SR 13, south Backwater Road, North Webster. Driver: Max Stackhouse, 75, EMS W29 Lane, North Webster. Stackhouse’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 1:55 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Joshua Crosley, 36, Lakeview Park Drive, Warsaw; and Amanda L. Bradley, Harris Street, Bourbon. Crosley’s vehicle struck Bradley’s vehicle as Crosley was backing out of a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.
- 2:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Driver: Mark R. O’Hearn, 58, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. O’Hearn was working on a moped when it tipped over and landed on his foot. O’Hearn was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where it was determined he had suffered a contusion to his foot. Damage up to $750.
