Winona Tree Lighting Modified; Toy Collection Continues
Staff Report
WINONA LAKE – The Village at Winona has modified its Tree Lighting Ceremony for Nov. 28 to a drive-thru event.
Nick Hauck, managing director for The Village at Winona, said even though people can’t meet in person for a full day of activities like usual, the Toys for Tots collection will continue. Each of the stores in The Village will have a donation box for toys, and there will be a drive-thru collection area at the Tabernacle Lawn (future site of the ice rink) for toy collection with Santa and hot chocolate from 6-7:30 p.m.
Hauck encouraged the public to take a drive-thru look at the scenery starting at 6 p.m.
Visit The Village at Winona website (www.villageatwinona.com) and Facebook page for full event details.
The tree lighting ceremony was modified this year due to the governor’s new restrictions related to the pandemic.
