Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, South CR 1000W, south of West CR 500S, Mentone. Driver: Leslie H. Bannister, 38, South SR 19, Akron. Bannister was traveling north on South CR 1000W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
- 8:57 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, South SR 25, west of South CR 550W, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher A. Winterrowd, 47, South Walnut Street B., Mentone. Winterrowd was traveling west on SR 25 when a tree fell into the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:53 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, East US 30, east of South CR 450E, Pierceton. Driver: Richard W. Gensch, 53, South Washington Street, Pierceton. Gensch was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. This caused Gensch to swerve his vehicle; his vehicle left the roadway. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:18 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, North CR 200S, west of North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Karleigh Warren, 20, West CR 200N, Warsaw. Warren was traveling west on CR 200S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:09 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, US 30, west of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Dillon J. King, 24, North First Street, Pierceton. King was traveling west on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, North SR 13, north of North Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Brittany N. Hughes, 25, North Sir Gallahad Place, Cromwell. Hughes said she fell asleep while driving, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway. Hughes’ vehicle then rolled. A passenger in Hughes’ vehicle, Tyler L. Goodpaster, 24, Cromwell, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hughes sustained a facial injury in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:08 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, South SR 13, south of East SR 14, Claypool. Driver: Shayne L. Keel, 43, North Main Street, South Whitley. Keel was traveling north on South SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:49 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, North SR 15, north of West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Terry L. Parsons, 54, Southeast 149th Place, Summerfield, Fla. Parsons was traveling south on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:13 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, South CR 700E, south of East CR 800S, Pierceton. Driver: Gary L. West, 62, South Park Avenue, Peru. West was traveling south on South CR 700E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, West US 30, west of North CR 875W, Etna Green. Driver: Matthew W. Ritchie, 50, Isleview Court, Fort Wayne. Ritchie was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, East Armstrong Road, east of EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Dakota L. Houseman, 18, South Melwood Park Drive East, Kimmell. Houseman was traveling west on Armstrong Road when his vehicle left the roadway, turning over onto its top. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:09 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, West CR 700S, east of South CR 1000W, Mentone. Driver: Janet J. Ramos, 17, East Walnut Street, Akron. Ramos was traveling east on CR 700S when her vehicle left the roadway, hitting a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:53 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, North Detroit Street, south of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jerry L. Moore, 69, South CR 400W, Warsaw; and Debra L. Morrison, 62, Walnut Creek Boulevard, Warsaw. Moore was traveling south on Detroit Street and was entering an intersection when he disregarded a red light, hitting Morrison’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, East US 30, near East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Janet M. Wehmeyer, 38, Market Street H3, Steubenville, Ohio. Wehmeyer was traveling east on East US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, West US 30, west of North CR 500W, Warsaw. Drivers: Benjamin G. Reynolds, 43, East Hanna Street, Columbia City; Issac C. Farmer, 19, East Washington Road, Pierceton; and Anne M. Railsback, 18, West Shilling Road, Mentone. Reynolds was traveling in the eastbound lane of US 30 when he rear-ended Farmer’s vehicle. Railsback’s vehicle was going approximately 10 mph on US 30 with hazard lights on due to a flat tire. Farmer’s vehicle rear-ended Railsback’s vehicle due to being rear-ended by Reynolds’ vehicle. Reynolds sustained a head injury but was not taken to a hospital. Farmer was flown from the scene to South Bend Memorial Hospital for a head injury. Railsback sustained minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, South SR 15, north of West CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Cheo A. Beasley, 47, Railroad Avenue, Beverly, N.J. Beasley was traveling north on SR 15 when his vehicle left the roadway due to heavy winds. This caused his semi to jack-knife while going off the roadway. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 9:03 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, East CR 500N, east of North CR 700E, North Webster. Driver: Terrance C. Farmer, 25, North CR 500E, Syracuse. Farmer was traveling west on East CR 500N when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 5:14 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, East Market Street, near South Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amy J. Dickerhoff, 52, South Franklin Street, Mentone; and Kylynn H. Fuller, 17, South Forest Lane, Syracuse. Dickerhoff was traveling east on East Market Street and did not stop at a stop sign at the Scott Street intersection, causing her vehicle to hit Fuller’s vehicle. Fuller was extricated from her vehicle and complained of shoulder and head pain. A passenger in Fuller’s vehicle, Samantha J. Schmucker, 37, Cromwell, complained of left hip pain. A second passenger in Fuller’s vehicle, Jaelyn Schmucker, 12, Cromwell, complained of head pain. No one was taken to the hospital from the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:24 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, North Detroit Street, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Claudia L. Burrous, 22, North 3rd Trail, North Webster; and Joshua D. Hill, 40, East Camp Mack Road, Milford. Burrous was traveling east on Jalynn Street when she turned right at a red light and hit Hill’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:36 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2223 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: Dianna L. Cross, 74, North Colfax Street 208, Warsaw. Cross was pulling her vehicle into a parking spot when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:39 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, East Market Street, east of Harrison Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacob A. Gall, 35, East Market Street, Warsaw; and Brooke S. Espinoza, 28, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Gall was backing his vehicle from a driveway when he hit Espinoza’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:52 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2234 E. Center St., Warsaw. Drivers: Christy A. Doty, 62, North Main Street, Milford; and Jose A. Vega Saavedra, 37, Robson Road, Winona Lake. Doty was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she hit Vega Saavedra’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:44 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, Buffalo Street, north of Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Caleb M. Hagan, 24, Center Avenue, Kendallville; and Landon T. Cole, 26, Church Street, Wabash. Hagan was traveling south on South Buffalo Street when he rear-ended Cole’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 11:02 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, Lake City Highway, west of Silveus Crossing, Warsaw. Drivers: Ayad S. Alzaidi, 36, South Nicholson Avenue, Cudahy, Wis.; and Charlotte A. Yeater, 73, South CR 675W, Warsaw. Witnesses said Alzaidi was traveling west on Lake City Highway when he disregarded a red traffic light, hitting Yeater’s vehicle. Yeater complained of pain to her knee, lower leg and foot area but was not taken to a hospital. Damage up to $5,000.
