WARSAW – The number of new cases and active cases of COVID-19 has jumped significantly in recent days in Kosciusko County.
The county reported 180 new molecular and antigen cases in a two-day stretch that began at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The county also reported an additional death, bringing the total to 36.
The update coincides with similar increases seen across much of Indiana and much of the Midwest, which is now viewed as one of the biggest regional hotspots in the country.
Earlier this week, Gov. Eric Holcomb announced new restrictions that begin on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Some schools are now relying more on online learning and Warsaw Community Schools informed patrons earlier this week that they are looking at options if staffing problems connected to quarantining grow worse.
Mayor Joe Thallemer and County Health officer Dr. William Remington are expected to participate in a news briefing at 10:30 a.m. Friday for an update.
You can watch the update live on the city of Warsaw’s website.
