News Release
WINONA LAKE — Church of the Good Shepherd, at 708 College Ave., in Winona Lake, will hold a special installation service for its new pastor, the Rev. Eric Sass, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8. All are invited.
Pastor Sass, who accepted a call to the independent congregation in August, is a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa, and is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree at Grace Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kelly, have one son, Joey, who is a junior at Grace College.
Prior to accepting the call to Good Shepherd, Sass pastored a church near Hillsdale, Mich., for 13 years.
Sunday’s service will include participation by several pastors who assisted the church during its recent period without a resident pastor. The former pastor of the church, Richard Anderson, now a resident at Grace Retirement Village in Winona Lake, will deliver the morning message.
In addition to its Sunday services, Good Shepherd church is currently selling peanut brittle patties with the proceeds going to a number of mission organizations. The church also invites area residents to participate in a free drive-through soup kitchen on Thursday, Nov. 12, starting at 5 p.m.
