Multiple Drug Busts Made In Wabash, Grant Counties

LAFONTAINE — Multiple people were recently arrested in drug busts that occurred in Wabash and Grant Counties.
At approximately 1:27 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, Deputy Corey Phillipy made a traffic stop on Randy Boring, 58, LaFontaine.
Boring was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics during the traffic stop was taken to the Wabash County Jail on charges for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe.
As part of the investigation, deputies were able to obtain a search warrant for room 129 of the Knights Inn in Wabash. That search warrant was made at 3:39 a.m. Oct. 27. Arrested during the search of room 129 was Tabetha Tyler, 30, Wabash. Tyler was charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. The illegal narcotics investigation then led Wabash County Sheriff’s deputies to 1112 E. Bradford St., Marion.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the Bradford Street address and at 10 a.m. Oct. 27, the Marion Police Department ERT executed the search warrant. Inside the residence were Johnny Rowe, 39; Christina Rowe, 26; and Cameron Long, 40, all of Marion. The Rowe’s were residing at the Bradford Street address. Prior to executing the search warrant, Marion Police Department made a traffic stop on Austin Cundiff, 23, Logansport. Cundiff was found to be in possession of U.S. currency, marijuana and oxycodone, as well as other prescription medication. The search of 1112 E. Bradford St. resulted in the discovery of 43 grams of methamphetamine, 361 grams of marijuana, Xanax, methadone, oxycodone and U.S. currency.
Subsequent to the search, Johnny Rowe was arrested for dealing methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. Christina Rowe was charged with dealing methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. Cundiff was charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. The investigation then led officers to 330 W. Broadway St., Logansport, where another search warrant was executed. During the search of 330 W. Broadway St., more illegal narcotics and U.S. currency were located.
As the investigation continued, deputies were able to secure three more search warrants that were all served in the early morning hours of Oct. 28 in Wabash. At approximately 2:08 a.m., the first warrant was executed at 945 LaFontaine Ave. Arrested at the LaFontaine Street address were Nicholas Burchett, 34, Wabash, for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance; Amanda Cantrell, 28, Wabash, for possession of a narcotic drug and unlawful possession of a syringe; and Jamie Shelton, 24, Lagro, for visiting a common nuisance.
The second search warrant was executed at 1148 Pike St. at 3:28 a.m. Arrested at the Pike Street location was Devin Bessette, 33, Wabash, for dealing methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a syringe; and Darian Boggs, 26, Wabash, with an unrelated arrest warrant.
The third search warrant led the deputies back to The Knights Inn, room 131. During the search of room 131, syringes and methamphetamine were found. Charges for the occupants of the room will be forwarded to the Wabash County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The Wabash County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with the investigation by the Wabash Police Department, Wabash Drug Task Force, Wabash Fire Department, Marion Police Department, Marion JEAN Team Drug Task Force and Cass County Drug Task Force.
All charges are merely accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
