Prior to this election, I have never helped a candidate with his/her campaign. I’ve never worked a fundraiser, knocked on strangers’ doors, driven my van full of Nelson’s chicken from Syracuse to Warsaw to sell before the sun went down or even worn a candidate’s T-shirt.
But over the last several months, I have watched these women – I have seen them show up for their community. I’ve seen the hours they’ve put into bringing people together – sincerely listening to the concerns of the people, the tears cried for their students and the sacrifices they have made to amplify voices not heard. I’ve watched my own children look up to them with respect and admiration.
I’ve watched them organize, delegate and, most importantly, get out there and do the work. And I have watched them run this race together.
These women have their finger on the pulse of this community in ways their opponents simply do not. I trust them implicitly to make the best choices for ALL of us.
As a mother and member of this community for nearly 20 years, I am proud to endorse Noemí Ponce and Itanya Coon-Kauffman for County Council.
