Joseph Wildermuth, 98, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at Hickory Creek at Rochester.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1922, on the family farm near Millark, the son of Solomon Ray and Iona Rae (Blacketor) Wildermuth.
In 1944, he married Garnet Wright, and she passed away in 1995. In 1998, he married Betty Steen, and she passed away in 2015.
Joe was proud to have served in the Navy aboard a destroyer escort during World War II. After the war, he graduated from Purdue University. He taught math and science at North Miami High School. After retiring from teaching, he volunteered at Wee Care Children’s Ministries, helping the children use the computers and learn to play chess.
He is survived by two daughters, Theressa (Bert) Sterk, Akron, and Jane Ann (Ted) Bailey, Hart, Mich.; two sons, Mark (Diane) Wildermuth, Akron, and Mike (Sandy) Wildermuth, Macy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private service will be at a later date. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
