Bonnie Anne Kissell, born on Jan. 9, 1936, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, in Arizona with family by her side. Formerly from Lake Tippecanoe, Leesburg, Bonnie moved to Arizona in 2018 to soak up the Arizona sunshine.
She was preceded in her death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Dierickx; and her husband of 62 years, Robert Kissell.
Bonnie is survived by her four children: David Kissell (Susie), Goodyear, Ariz.; Joi Mannan, Litchfield Park, Ariz.; Mark Kissell (Cara), North Manchester; and Jill Beckman (Jeff), Indianapolis.
Her beloved grandchildren are Heather (Aaron), Tyler (Anjali), Kara (Ben), Michael, Michele (Eric), Robby, Jackie, Samantha; along with five great-grandchildren, Spencer, Emma, Marli, David and Hadley.
Bonnie enjoyed working to build the family businesses along with her own successful 35-year career in real estate, where the phrase “Don’t forget to ‘Whistle for Kissell’” was born.
Her lake house was not only a dream come true, but the collection of history she displayed of a time gone by leaving a lasting impression for the family during all of those memorable years on Lake Tippecanoe. Her favorites included taking slow boat rides on the pontoon, fishing only when the fish were biting, bingo at the North Webster American Legion and the memories made at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. She competed and enjoyed the friendships from the 18-hole Tippy Ladies Golf Association and the Sundowner mixers with her husband. The social atmosphere of the clubhouse during the summer season would bring so many wonderful friends together with The Rock and Red dancing the night away together!
She has blessed us with her eternal love for her family, wishing for each of us to enjoy our lives and reaching further to fulfill our dreams.
We will all miss our Nana so much! Rest In peace, we love you!
