Trick Or Treat Times, Halloween Events Listed

WARSAW — The following towns and cities in Kosciusko County and surrounding areas have announced Halloween trick or treat hours. The following is a list of those events.
Akron
Akron will have trick or treat from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Stop by the fall backdrop at the downtown park for a quick photo and tag the Akron Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. All pictures will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to a local business of the winner’s choice.
There will be no costume judging at the fire station this year. Please use good judgment on whether or not you should participate in trick-or-treating due to COVID-19.
Claypool
Claypool’s trick or treat hours are from 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Etna Green
Etna Green’s trick or treat hours are from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
Leesburg
Leesburg’s trick or treat hours are from 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Mentone
Mentone’s trick or treat hours are from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. A costume judging contest will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Mentone Elementary School.
Those attending the costume judging contest are asked to wear a cloth mask.
Milford
Milford’s trick or treat hours are from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Trick-or-treaters can also visit the Milford Fire Department, where candy bags and glow sticks will be available.
Nappanee
Nappanee’s trick or treat hours are from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. There will also be a virtual costume contest. To enter, e-mail [email protected] with costume pictures by 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Name, e-mail address, phone number, category and a description of your costume must be included in the e-mail. Categories are family, grades K-5 and grades 6-8. Awards will be given to first place in each category.
North Webster
North Webster’s trick or treat hours are from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Turn on outside lights if you have treats to pass out.
Many creative minds have gone to work to have an enjoyable yet safe holiday experience in North Webster. Free candy will be given out at the North Webster Church of God from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, but you must register by visiting the NWCOG Facebook page.
Pierceton
Pierceton’s trick or treat hours are from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Silver Lake
Silver Lake’s trick or treat hours are from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Stop by Memory Park, 114 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, for individually bagged refreshments and candy.
Be sure to turn on your porch light if you are handing out candy.
Syracuse
Syracuse’s trick or treat hours are from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Warsaw/Winona Lake
Trick-or-treating in Warsaw and Winona Lake is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

Trunk or Treats and Drive-Thru Events
Atwood Fire Department
The Atwood Fire Department will have a haunted house and trick or treat from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Atwood – Otterbein United Methodist Church
Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood will be hosting a Trunk or Treat in their parking lot from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. The church’s United Methodist Women’s group is coordinating the event and wants parents to know this is a safe place for costumed children to trick or treat. Hot chocolate, doughnuts and fellowship will also be available in the church basement during this time. The church is located at 306 E. Main St., Atwood.
Claypool – Main Street Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat will take place on Main Street from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Someplace Else Saloon will be giving away free chili and hot dogs. Due to COVID-19, there will be no games or bounce houses this year; however, there will still be a raffle for new bicycles for children. Those participating in trunk or treat are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing protocols.
Etna Green Lions Club
The Lions Club of Etna Green will be holding its annual “Hayride and Hot Dogs” event on Oct. 31 at Heritage Park. The hayride starts at 6 p.m. There will also be free hot chocolate and hot dogs.
Milford Churches And Kiwanis Club
The Milford Ministerial Association and Milford Kiwanis Club have a trunk-or-treat 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. The event is in the Milford Public Library parking lot, Main Street parking lot and the Christian Church parking lot.
Nappanee – The Barns at Nappanee Halloween BarnFest
The Barns at Nappanee is hosting a Halloween BarnFest from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
General admission tickets are $6 and full access admission tickets are $20. Full access tickets include entry to the haunted enchanted forest and candy hay maze.
Activities include games, hayrides and candy. There will also be a free showing of the classic “Ghostbusters” movie. Food, treats and drinks will be available for purchase during the screening.
North Manchester – Manchester University Monster Mash
Manchester University is offering trick or treat on campus again this year for local children.
Monster Mash, presented by the Office of Residential Life, is from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, on the North Manchester campus mall. Masks and social distancing are required. The rain date is Nov. 1.
“We are asking that community members bring one can per trick or treater they bring to campus,” said Leslie Marlatt, associate director of career and service engagement.
The donation is not required and all of the food that is collected will go toward the U Can Crush Hunger campaign.
“If community members would like to donate canned goods and can’t make it to Monster Mash, they can bring items to Room 104 in the Chinworth Center through Nov. 5,” Marlatt said.
Manchester is competing with other colleges and universities in the region to collect the most food for those in need. Cans collected at the Monster Mash will help support the campus pantry and partners in the community.
North Webster – Clayton’s Garden Center
Clayton’s Garden Center in North Webster will be having a drive-thru trick or treat from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
North Webster Community Center
The first drive-thru trick or treat at North Webster Community Center will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. There will be candy and hot dogs available at the main entrance of the parking lot until it’s all gone. NWCC would like to thank North Webster Neighborhood Fresh for donating hot dogs and North Webster Ace Hardware for the delivery of some of the decorations.
North Webster Fire Department
North Webster Fire Department is hosting its event but with modifications. Candy, cookies and punch will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, and the costume contest will be held at 7:45 p.m.
Syracuse Church of God
Syracuse Church of God will hold its annual Trunk or Treat for community trick or treaters from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Church members will be parked in the church parking lot behind the church and pass out free treats from the trunk of their cars to children as they trick or treat through the neighborhood on Halloween night. All community children are welcome to pass through the parking lot to receive treats. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Trick or treaters and their families are expected to social distance and be respectful of the health and safety of others.
In the event the town of Syracuse should cancel community-wide trick-or-treating, the church will comply and cancel its trunk or treat event as well. Inclement weather may also cause cancellation.
The church holds its annual trunk or treat in order to provide a safe, fun place for children to trick or treat and to get to know people in the community. The Syracuse Church of God is located at 104 E. Washington St., one block north of the Syracuse Public Library.
Syracuse Community Center
A drive-thru trick or treat event will take place from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive, Syracuse.
Social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines will be practiced and encouraged. Please remain in your vehicle.
Upon arriving to the event, park staff will direct traffic through the parking lot where many local businesses, organizations, agencies, churches, non-profits and civic groups will line the parking lot to greet families with candy and treats.
This is a family-friendly event and Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Warsaw – YMCA Trunk Or Treat
Parkview Warsaw YMCA will be holding a free trunk or treat Halloween event from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. There will also be a scavenger hunt, games and prizes. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Activities at the event include a costume parade, candy spin wheel and pumpkin ring toss.
Warsaw – Drive-Thru Spooktacular
Downtown Warsaw’s Drive-Thru Spooktacular event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. The event will begin at the old Owen’s parking lot.
