Clayton Michael ‘Mike’ Varney Jr.
Clayton Michael “Mike” Varney Jr., 51, Colon, Mich., formerly of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 4, 1969, in Elgin, Ill. to Clayton Michael and Julia A. (Radke) Varney Sr.
He grew up in Illinois, attended Cambridge Academy in Illinois, and lived in Syracuse for many years before he moved to Michigan three years ago. He formerly worked at Frontline Manufacturing in Warsaw, Krider Fiberglass in Ligonier, Bison Manufacturing in Milford, Lippert Components in Goshen, HRO in Wolcottville, and Forest River in Goshen.
He is survived by two sons: Clayton Michael (Angie) Varney III of Goshen and Dylan Varney of Cromwell; mother: Julia Varney of Colon, Mich.; mother of his children: Tracy Varney of Cromwell; two sisters: Angela (Larry) Hicks of Syracuse and Melissa (Eric) Varney of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Willy (Michelle) Varney of Colon, Mich.; and Gabriele Varney of Battle Creek, Mich.; four grandchildren: Aurora, Ezra, Kason, and Cameron; 14 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father and son, Shawn Varney.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. No public services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
