Brenda Gail Duty, 69, Pierceton, passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born on Oct. 1, 1951, in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Bush) Collier.
Brenda attended Larwill High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. On Feb. 6, 1989, Brenda married Charley Duty in Paintsville, Ky. She worked at United Technologies, Inc., Columbia City as a material handler for 19 years. Brenda enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and was also an avid reader.
Survivors include her son Roy (Courtney) Fields; step children Charles Newman, Troy Duty, and Tammy Davis, all of Warsaw, and Georgina Lewis of Mentone; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings Glen (Connie) Collier and Karen Brandel, both of Columbia City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charley Duty, daughter Jessica Fields, brother Robert Collier, sister Deborah Ivy, and nephew Clint Collier.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on Thursday Oct. 22, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. With the current Executive Order, face masks are required for attendance.
Funeral services for Brenda will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at the funeral home. With limited seating, the funeral service may also be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live. Memorial donations may be given in memory of Brenda to her final expenses.
