Whitko FFA Competes In Livestock Skillathon CDE

SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s FFA chapter competed in the state livestock skillathon CDE this past weekend.
The skillathon contest comprises of a written quiz and learning stations where students identify breed, feed, equipment and meat as well as some team activities focused on quality assurance skills.
“Livestock skillathon contests provide a valuable educational experience for youth,” said Coach Roger Carr. “The content of these contests provide a framework for youth to learn a variety of topics related to the production and management of beef cattle, meat, goats, sheep and swine.”
Whitko placed seventh in the state against 50 other FFA chapters. Jordyn Leininger was sixth overall. 184 members competed in this event. The team is coached by Roger Carr.
