Kosciusko County Sees 60 New COVID-19 Cases

WARSAW — Between noon Tuesday, Oct. 6, and noon Thursday, Oct. 8, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported a total of 60 new molecular and antigen COVID-19 cases.
This brings the county’s total number to 1,436, with 17 deaths.
Currently, 1,168 Kosciusko County residence have recovered from COVID-19. Nine cases are hospitalized active cases, with 233 classified as active. A “hospitalized active case” consists of any active cases that are currently or have been hospitalized at all during their illness. However, consistent with non-hospitalized cases, once their 21-day active period is completed, they are considered recovered.
This year, influenza season is expected to be worse with the added impact of COVID-19. Find a location to receive a flu shot online. You can also visit the Kosciusko County Health Department immunization clinic during the following days and times: 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 3,515.
The State of Indiana is also reporting a new single-day record for COVID-19 cases. 1,487 cases were reported on Wednesday, Oct. 7, which is the highest number of daily cases to date.
The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 129,677. More than 2,246,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Locally, Fulton County has 270 positive cases, Wabash County has 296 positive cases, and Whitley County has 338 positive cases. Marshall County has 1,105 positive cases, which is up from 1,077 reported on Tuesday, Oct. 6; Noble County has 972 positive cases and Elkhart County has 7,305.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 11,419 positive cases; St. Joseph County has 7,500 positive cases; and Allen County has 6,848 positive cases.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 2,999,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
