Silver Lake Man Arrested Following Alleged Battery, Confinement

SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man is facing multiple charges following an alleged battery incident.
Gage Allen Waddle, 20, 404 N. High St., Silver Lake, is charged with criminal confinement, a level 6 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; battery, a class A misdemeanor; theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 23, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of battery. The officer spoke with a woman who said she had been thrown against a trailer, as well as struck and threatened by Waddle.
She further said that Waddle took her phone and other items and ran off with a black bag following the physical altercation.
The woman told the officer she had been confined in the residence since Sept. 20. She said Waddle forced her to stay in the residence and if she attempted to leave, Waddle would physically stop her, at times striking her in the face or other parts of the body.
The woman also said that Waddle had threatened to kill her if she tried to leave the residence. She said she was unable to use her phone to get help because Waddle was keeping the phone from her.
Waddle was found at the Bulldog Saloon in Mentone, according to information found in the probable cause affidavit. He was in possession of the black bag described by the woman.
The phone the woman had described was found in the pocket of Waddle’s pants during his arrest.
The deputy spoke with another person who witnessed Waddle throw the woman against the trailer and strike her.
Waddle was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Sept. 23 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
