WARSAW— The Indiana Guard Reserve has annual training every year at Camp Atterbury for three days. This year, due to COVID 19, they have had to divide into three groups, North, Central and South. The 1st BDE will host the North group in Warsaw.
The North group will be the 1st BDE, 2nd BDE and 201 Medical Company of the Royal Lao Airborne. This year’s annual training will be held Oct. 2, 3 and 4.
The purpose of annual training is to bring together all of the training skills for the year and practice as a group with field exercises. They will be conducting search and rescue exercises in the field. This exercise will be conducted using the Incident Command System (ICS) using search and rescue, communications, medical and land navigation skills. They will also be conducting an “Introduction to Ham Radio” class.
Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency Director Ed Rock will provide a briefing to start the exercise. Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) will be joining the exercise to assist with communications between the locations. Claypool Fire Department will join the exercise and demonstrate the Auto Pulse AED.
