County Sees 37 New COVID-19 Cases

WARSAW — Between noon Tuesday, Sept. 29, and noon Thursday, Oct. 1, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported a total of 37 new molecular and antigen COVID-19 cases.
This brings the county’s total number to 1,314, with 17 deaths.
Currently, 1,124 Kosciusko County residents have recovered from COVID-19. Seven cases are hospitalized active cases, with 166 classified as active. A “hospitalized active case” consists of any active cases that are currently or have been hospitalized at all during their illness. However, consistent with non-hospitalized cases, once their 21-day active period is completed, they are considered recovered.
Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 3,418.
The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 121,176. More than 2,087,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Locally, Fulton County has 248 positive cases, Wabash County has 276 positive cases and Whitley County has 295 positive cases. Marshall County has 1,030 positive cases, Noble County has 936 positive cases and Elkhart County has 6,800.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 10,869 positive cases; St. Joseph County has 6,857 positive cases; and Allen County has 6,459 positive cases.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 2,840,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
