Grace 3, Goshen 0
Grace’s volleyball team made quick work of Goshen on the road on Wednesday with a 3-0 win.
The Lady Lancers (6-2, 6-2 Crossroads League) had four players with at least six kills in a balanced performance.
Cassadi Colbert led all players with nine kills. As a team, Grace had 39 kills and just seven errors for a sizzling .400 percentage.
The first game set the tone for the match. The Lady Lancers jumped out to an 8-2 lead and never relented.
The set ended on a blistering 14-1 run for Grace as the visitors won 25-7. Grace wrapped up the set with five consecutive kills, including two apiece from Katie Swanson and Makayla Bell.
The second set started with a kill by Colbert and an ace from Gabbey Harrington. Midway into the set, a pair of kills from Colbert helped give Grace separation during a 5-1 run. The Lady Lancers then coasted for a 25-16 win.
In the third and final set, Grace held Goshen to a negative hitting percentage with six kills and seven errors. The Lady Lancers wrapped up the sweep with an eight-point win in the set.
Harrington produced a well-rounded stat line of 27 assists, 8 digs, 3 kills and 1 ace, and Anna Frey had seven kills on just 12 attempts.
Bell had six kills on a .500 percentage to go along with a team-high eight digs, and Jadyn Block also tallied six kills.
Goshen was muted offensively with a negative hitting percentage of -.022 (18 kills, 20 errors).
The Lady Lancers are still on the road Saturday, playing at Spring Arbor at 3 p.m.
Plymouth 3, Triton 0
Plymouth sent Triton to its second loss in as many days after a 25-17, 25-15, 25-10 loss at Plymouth.
Stat leaders for Triton (16-8) included 16 combined kills from Addyson Viers, Abbey Viers and Madeline Doll, 16 assists from Emma Hepler and five digs from Molly McFarland.
The Plymouth JV also ran Triton in a 25-13, 25-13 contest.
