Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:36 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, South CR 450E, north of East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Teena G. Nichols, 55, CR 350E, Warsaw. Nichols was traveling south on South CR 450E when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, South SR 15, Claypool. Driver: Joshua R. Schmidt, 30, Charleston Court, Avon. Schmidt was traveling northbound on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. His vehicle missed the deer and drove off the road. His vehicle hit a porch and another vehicle and sideswiped a trailer. Damage up to $25,000.
- 2:12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, West CR 1350N and North CR 950W, Warsaw. Drivers: Jo L. O’Connell, 72, Lakewood Hills Drive, Warsaw; and Johnny M. Smith, 30, Jefferson Street, Rochester. O’Connell was traveling south on CR 950W when she stopped at an intersection of CR 1350N. She thought it was a four-way stop and drove her vehicle into the path of Smith’s. O’Connell complained of shoulder pain and was checked out by medics at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 9:29 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, Coy Avenue, Silver Lake. Driver: Linda K. Flinn, 73, CR 200N, Peru. Flinn was backing up her vehicle out of a driveway and hit another vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 10:19 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, West Center Street, east of South Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher J. Hale, 47, Lakeview Park Drive, Warsaw. Hale was traveling east on West Center Street when he was reaching to pick up a dropped item in his vehicle when he struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, SR 15 and East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jordan P. Waters, 22, CR 600S, Claypool; and Boubacar Diallo, 56, Pendragon Boulevard, Indianapolis. Waters was traveling west on East Prairie Street, Warsaw, when he didn’t see the red light turn in time and ran a red light. His vehicle hit Diallo’s. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1150 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Driver: Robert C. Jeffrey, 43, Lydia Drive, Warsaw. Jeffrey was backing his vehicle up when he failed to see a pedestrian behind his vehicle. He hit a pedestrian and two shopping carts. The pedestrian complained of hip pain, but refused medical treatment. Damage under $750.
