Iva Marie Truex, 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, Sept. 27, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 31, 1941, in Milford to Ralph and Esterbell (Harman) Krull.
On Dec. 19, 1959, she married George Truex in Milford.
He survives along with four children, Kim (Doug) Desper, Kendallville; Tammy (John) Kavanaugh, O’Fallon, Mo.; Christina (Christopher) Cortez, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Tracey (Dwane) Peterson, Columbia City; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two brothers, Lester (Carolyn) Krull, Goshen and Hubert (Beth) Krull, Milford.
A 1959 graduate of Milford High School, Mrs. Truex was a member of Jefferson Community Church. She volunteered as a 4-H leader and was a 50-year member of the Busy Homemaker Extension Club. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She and her husband wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
She retired from Independent Lightening Protection, Goshen, where she worked in accounts receivable.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Friday, 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home. Pastor Ken Hunn will officiate.
Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
