Rochester Man Arrested For Child Molesting
Staff Report
ROCHESTER — A Rochester man was recently arrested after allegedly molesting a child while being out on bond for a previous child molesting arrest.
Bronson E. Cottrell, 35, 1231 N. CR 400W, Rochester, is charged with child molesting, a level 4 felony; and sexual battery, a level 6 felony.
On Sept. 9, a Rochester Police officer responded to a report of child molesting. A child told an adult about Cottrell inappropriately touching them in the past. According to court documents, the child was very uncomfortable talking about the matter. There were also concerns due to Cottrell being previously arrested for similar crimes.
On Sept. 14, the officer interviewed the child. The child said that during visitations every other weekend, Cottrell would touch the child in places they were not comfortable with. When asked to be more descriptive about what occurred, the child said Cottrell would inappropriately touch them in a living room. During these incidents, Cottrell and the child were the only ones in the room.
The child estimated this type of activity happened over a six-month period. The child also said Cottrell made the child inappropriately touch him.
Currently, Cottrell is out on bond awaiting trial in a previous child molesting arrest for a different victim.
For this case, Cottrell was booked in the Fulton County Jail on Sept. 21.
