Lisa Kaye Miller
Lisa Kaye (Reid) Miller, 53, Kewanna passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at home. She was born to Jerry Reid and Linda Maples on Aug. 28, 1967, in Smithfield, N.C.
Lisa will be greatly missed by her children, Melissa (William Greene) Kilby of Lenoir, N.C., Holly (Joe) Reed, and Alan (Essie) Miller, both of Elkhart; two grandsons, Alex Reed and Jon Miller; step-mother, Penny Reid; four brothers and four sisters; her partner, Mark Clupper of Kewanna and his son, Landon Clupper; and her longtime companion, David Beehler of Elkhart, and his son, Eric Beehler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Christopher Alan Miller.
As a true southern girl, Lisa lived for hot summer days, sweet tea, and pecan pie. She embraced her southern pride and traveled back home to North Carolina and Alabama whenever she could. Her roots bred a love of country music and rock ‘n roll in her too – jamming out in the car with the top down was one of her favorite things to do. Lisa took pride in any vehicle she ever owned and she especially liked trucks. She enjoyed collecting chickens and antiques, and loved Alabama Roll Tide.
Lisa was a fiery red head with a temper to match, and fiercely loved her family. Known by her grandkids as “Meemaw,” she loved taking them to fairs and festivals, and spoiling them with yard sale finds and trips to Dollar General.
A funeral in honor of Lisa will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514.
Friends and family will be received from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Yeager Funeral Home.
