David Jay Housouer, 62, Warsaw, passed away at 1:11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on Dec. 4, 1957, in Elkhart, to Dewey E. and Thelma I. (Foudy) Housouer.
He graduated in 1976 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Dewart Lake and Warsaw area except for two years in Nevada. He retired in June 2020 from RR Donnelley in Warsaw after several years and was the former owner and operator of Eagle Creek Gun Shop in Warsaw.
He formerly attended the Church of God in North Webster and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his sister: Jo Lene (Tom) Holderread of Milford; brother, Jeff (Brenda) Housouer of Clermont, Fla.; niece: Vicki (Brian) Haines; three nephews: Jeremy Housouer, Kenny (Ashley) Griswold, and Christopher Housouer; several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Lawrence and Gladys Foudy and Clyde and Pearl Housouer, and nephew, Mark Holderread.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. No services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
