Warsaw 27, Northridge 14
The Tigers picked up a key win on the road Friday night in a win at Interra Field in Middlebury.
Warsaw moved to 3-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference, becoming the first team to score on Northridge this year. Patrick Zollinger had honor, taking the ball seven yards in the first quarter. After Dom Crowder tied the game at seven on a three-yard run, Juan Jaramillo put the Tigers back up on the next possession finishing off a three-yard rush for a touchdown.
Aaron Greene then got into the act, first hitting Luke Adamiec for a 39-yard touchdown pass, then capping a drive in the fourth to put the Tigers up 27-7.
Crowder would get a second score late for the Raiders.
After holding Plymouth to -18 yards rushing last week, Northridge allowed 260 on the ground to Warsaw and 341 yards overall Friday night. Julius Jones had 109 of those rushing yards and Zollinger was next with 67 yards. Crowder led Northridge with 77 yards rushing.
Theo Katris had a pair of interceptions to lead the Tiger defense.
Warsaw sits at 4-1 overall and atop the NLC slate, Northridge now 2-1 in the NLC and 3-1 overall. The Tigers host Goshen next Friday and Ridge visits NorthWood.
Triton 48, Culver 8
Triton turned on the jets in the second quarter to pull away from the Cavs in the shadows of Ernie Watkins Pavilion.
Anthony Schuh had three touchdown runs in the first half, spanning 16, 29 and 47 yards as Triton grabbed a 28-8 lead. Cole Shively’s 41-yard touchdown pass to Lucas Cabrera with 1:48 left in the half put the Trojans over.
Hunter McIntyre added touchdown runs of 24 and 2 yards and Trace Schuh added a score for the Trojans.
Anthony Schuh needed just seven carries to amass 113 yards and Trace Schuh finished with 42 rushing yards on six carries. McIntyre had 57 yards on the ground and Cabrera added 80 yards of total offense.
Shane Shuman led the Cavs with 18 carries for 113 yards. Emiliano Ortiz had a 53-yard touchdown catch for Cuvler’s lone score in the second quarter.
Triton (3-1) hosts Pioneer next week while Culver (1-4) hosts Winamac.
