Grace’s women’s tennis team extended its winning streak to six courtesy of a 7-0 win at Manchester on Monday.

All six singles’ courts were straight-set victories for the Lady Lancers (7-1). Graves picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and Hughes was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 2.
Adams was victorious at No. 4 singles, and Jarvis dropped just one game at No. 5 singles. Riegsecker (No. 3) and Bognar (No. 6) were both perfect in their matchups.
The Lady Lancers are back in action Wednesday, squaring off with Indiana Wesleyan and Huntington. The matches will be held at IWU.
Grace men remains perfect on season
Grace’s men’s tennis team picked up a pivotal win on Monday, defeating Marian 5-2. The Lancers kept their perfect season intact, improving to 6-0 in the Crossroads League.
The win sets up a likely league-deciding doubleheader on Wednesday. Only three undefeated teams remain in the league (Grace, Huntington, Indiana Wesleyan). All three will play each other on Wednesday at IWU.
Grace faces the host IWU on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by Huntington at 1:30 p.m. The Lancers (6-0, 6-0 CL) will have completed the league season after Wednesday’s matches.
The Lancers were in a battle with the Knights (2-2, 2-2 CL) at nearly every court. Max Rozas and Fabricio Galvan muscled to a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Ramiro Candia and Mauricio Corty clinched the doubles’ point with a 6-3 win at No. 3.
In singles, Galvan got Grace off to a strong start with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3. Pavle Popovic finished soon after, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5.
Rozas secured the team victory at the top singles’ court, winning 6-2, 6-4. David Sandi added an insurance point with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 victory at No. 4 singles.
Monday’s win was also Grace’s first against Marian since 2017.
Tippecanoe Valley 3, Rochester 2
The host Vikings eked out a narrow victory in the hardcourt version of the Bell Game. Valley won all three singles matches with Payton Mills, Dylan Neese and Owen Kirchenstein ousting their Zebra counterparts in straight sets.
Rochester took both doubles courts in straight sets with Kyle Reinartz/Brock Bowers and Cody Smith/Drew Strasser claiming victory.
On the JV undercard, Rochester took all three singles matches played while the Valley doubles team of Mason Purvis and Evan Harsh finished on top.
Valley will travel to Maconaquah for another TRC showdown on Wednesday.
Westview 5, NorthWood 0
The Warriors played very inhospitable hosts to their visitors from Nappanee. Westview took all five courts from NorthWood with all but the three singles match being completed in straight sets.
NorthWood won’t have much time to recover from the whitewash as they return to action on Wednesday hosting Northridge in a NLC contest scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
