Wawasee Runs At Marion Invite
The Warriors competed Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University as part of the Marion Invite.
The girls team from Syracuse were eighth place, led by Emma Ebright’s time of 22:49, one of five season best times. Also registering season bests were Ella Beezley (22:54), Lily Tyler (23:05), Mariah Hurst (23:30) and Autumn Turner (24:20).
Culver Academy were far and away the top team with 58 points, with Faith Christian runner-up at 102.
The boys were eighth in the team standings, led by a 17:12 from Karlson Hand, which was seventh overall in the standings. Camden Powell clocked 18:03 for 27th and Senate Shaw ran a 19:11 to highlight the Warriors.
“Overall, it was a really good performance for our boys,” noted Wawasee head coach Jose Lopez. “Several boys had personal bests so I’m really happy with that. We will keep grinding in practice to become better.”
Valley Hosts Annual Invite
Tippecanoe Valley held its 36th annual cross country invite Saturday morning on the campus grounds.
Manchester won the boys title with 88 points, four better than West Noble’s 92 points.
Valley placed 10th out of 14 teams, with Matthew Howes leading the team with an 18:09.
Rochester won the girls title with 52 points, besting West Noble by seven points.
Valley placed sixth out of 11 teams, with Chesnee Miller placing fourth overall with a time of 21:18.
