Concord 28, Wawasee 7
After a suspension in the third quarter due to a blown transformer across the street from Larry Jackowiak Field on the campus of Concord High School, the two teams returned Saturday morning to finish the contest.
The game was halted with just over four minutes left in the third quarter, the score sitting at 21-7. Concord would add on a touchdown to finish off the contest.
Tommy Kinsman was responsible for two scores for the Minutemen, a 33-yard score to Amarion Moore Friday night and a seven-yard run for the only Saturday score. Will Odhiamho had a three-yard run for a touchdown and Hunter Dutton tossed a 14-yard touchdown to Brenden Stockman for the other Concord score.
Wawasee’s lone score came on a 46-yard strike from Parker Young to Zach Smith, which had tied the game at 7-7 in the first quarter.
The JV played one half Saturday after the conclusion of the varsity, Concord taking the modified contest 6-0.
Wawasee (2-2, 0-2 NLC) will host NorthWood next week.
