Ridge Hosting Ribbon Cutting For Interra Field
Press Release
MIDDLEBURY – Middlebury Community Schools (MCS) has announced that it will host a public ribbon-cutting for Interra Field at the Northridge Athletic Complex on Friday, September 11 at 5:00 p.m. The event will precede the first home varsity football game to be held at the stadium since its construction that completed in the summer of 2020.
Interra Field at the Northridge High School Athletics Complex features an approximately 4,000-seat football stadium, fitted with state-of-the-art field turf, as well as updated team and gameday facilities.
Under the current requirements of the Elkhart County Health Department (ECHD) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, spectator capacity will be limited for the first game.
A limited number of tickets for the game will be sold in advance to student participants’ families, including the football team, cheerleading squad and marching band. Additionally, Northridge High School staff and students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets before the public.
All general admission tickets will be sold via an online ticket system. It is anticipated that at least 400 tickets will be available to sell to the public for the home side of the stadium. Access to that online system will be communicated to the general public by the NHS athletic department at a later date and time. MCS Gold Cards will be accepted for admission purposes.
“I cannot wait to see our Raider football team, cheerleaders and marching band on the brand new Interra Field and Raider Stadium. We are so very thankful to our community for supporting this project,” said Mrs. Jane Allen, Superintendent of Middlebury Community Schools.
“I want to thank the community and Interra for supporting this project and making it happen. The new Interra Field and Raider Stadium is fantastic and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it. Go Raiders,” said Dave Harms, Northridge High School athletic director.
Interra Field benefits from a five-year, $50,000 per year naming rights sponsorship deal with the Goshen-headquartered credit union that provides category exclusive football marketing rights to the credit union and financial support for the school corporation to add additional support staff and equipment needed to maintain the grounds.
