Tennis Results: Sept. 2
Tippecanoe Valley 5, Knox 0
The Vikings took their ship on road as they travelled to Knox on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference matchup with the Redskins. Valley came home smiling after sweeping all five varsity matches from their hosts.
Payton Mills, Dylan Neese and Owen Kirchenstein all won their singles matchups in straight sets, with only Mills losing any games — two to be exact in his second set.
The doubles teams of Ethan Hartman/Annakin Pettit and Cooper Walls/Wyatt Reiter took care of their business with the second team needing three sets, including a 10-8 set in the final.
Concord 4, NorthWood 1
While the score didn’t necessarily reflect it, the NLC tennis match between Concord and NorthWood was closer than it appeared.
The Panthers had a chance to take all three singles matches but only were able to take home the number one slot as senior Ben Vincent took down Bryson Schrock in straight sets. Both Brady Chupp and Treyton Martin lost in three sets in the two and three positions. The NorthWood doubles pairings of Gage Gongwer/Chaz Yoder and Brad Demitruk/Isaac Roberts each fell in straight sets.
In the JV portion of the evening, the Minutemen swept all 12 contests.
The loss drops the Panthers to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the NLC.
