Milford Man Arrested Following Fight
MILFORD — A Milford man was recently arrested after a victim told officers that he strangled her until she blacked out.
Richard Castle Jr., 57, 208 S. James St., Milford, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony; domestic battery causing moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 13, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department received a report of domestic violence. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers located a female victim.
The victim told officers that “He beat the **** out of me,” referring to Castle. She said that Castle hit her on the head and choked her to the point where she could not breathe and blacked out. She then grabbed a spatula in an attempt to get him to release her. The victim recalled Castle stumbling and then being hit in the head again by him.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer observed a laceration on the back of the victim’s head along with blood.
The officer then spoke with Castle, who admitted that a physical altercation had occurred. But, he said that the victim was the aggressor. The officer was unable to locate any physical marks on Castle’s body.
Castle was previously convicted of battery in 2010. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 22, with a bond of $5,750 surety and cash.
