UPDATE: Boy Pulled From Pond Near Nappanee Dies

NAPPANEE — The juvenile pulled from a pond near Nappanee over the weekend succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced deceased, according to information issued Monday, Aug. 24, by the Indiana DNR.
The official cause of death is pending autopsy results.
At approximately 1:27 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, Kosciusko County Dispatch received a call of CPR in progress on an unresponsive juvenile male who was pulled from a pond near the 11000 block of North CR 1000W, near Nappanee.
The juvenile was taken to Memorial Hospital, South Bend, in critical condition.
Assisting agencies included Indiana State Police, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Nappanee Fire and EMS.
This incident is still under investigation and information will be released as it becomes available.
