Mellissa Jane Leamon, 67, Cromwell, passed away at Laverne Terrace in Avilla, on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020. She was born on Feb. 24, 1953, the daughter of Lloyd D. and Catherine E. (Calbeck) Leamon.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhea Dice of Kimmell; three grandsons,Timothy Dalton, Dylan James, and Dawson Lane; three siblings, Joseph Leamon and Sherman (Juliet) Leamon both of Syracuse; and Beverly (Jim) Moseman of Syracuse; a brother-in-law, Leeman Ward Jr.; several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cynthia Ward; two brothers, Martin Leamon and Robert Leamon; son-in-law, Timothy Dice; niece, Laura Leamon; and nephew, Chad Leamon.
Mellissa graduated from West Noble High School and worked at Ace Hardware in Ligonier for many years. She was very independent and enjoyed crafts, flower gardening, and loved her dog, Banner.
A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier. Mellissa will then be laid to rest at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, on Saturday, Aug. 29, with a graveside service beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Stuart Mutzfield will officiate.
